Skills

Teach an agent how to do a job with reusable instructions.

A skill is a reusable guide that teaches an agent how to do something. Skills give agents the context they need to handle specialized work consistently, including the instructions, examples, and supporting files that make a workflow repeatable.

For example, a “write a weekly update” skill could explain the format to use and the steps to follow when preparing it.

Skills improve Dexto’s consistency, speed, and performance on many tasks. Skills work through progressive disclosure: Dexto determines which skills are relevant and loads the information it needs to complete that task, helping to prevent context window overload.

When you ask Dexto to complete a task, it reviews available skills, loads relevant ones, and applies their instructions.

The Skills Library is where you browse and manage skills for a desktop. My Library shows skills installed on the desktop. Store shows Dexto skills and community skills you can install. Open a skill to read what it does, inspect its files, or manage it.
