Projects

A Project is a home for ongoing work. It keeps related chats, instructions, and useful sources together so you can return to the work later or start a new chat without explaining everything again.

What a Project can include

• a name, description, and instructions for how you want the agent to work;
• Notes and selected workspace files or folders;
• links to earlier chats in the Project;
• selected Apps and connections; and
• Tasks and scheduled Loops.

Project instructions and context

Instructions tell the agent how to work—for example, which style to use or which checks to run. Notes, files, folders, and earlier chats provide information the agent can use.

Manage your project context with PROJECT.md—a shared guide you can use in your projects. It includes instructions, skills, apps, files, and connections specific to that project. All chats in a project will use this guide.

Chats and agent work

A chat is the conversation you return to. When you ask the agent to do something, Dexto carries out that work and adds the result to the chat. You can continue the same chat or start another one in the Project.

While the agent is working, you can queue a follow-up for later or steer the current work. Dexto starts a queued follow-up after the current work finishes, in the order you added them. Use Command+Enter on macOS or Control+Enter on Windows and Linux to steer instead of queueing.
